Through my time here, I have done a lot of bitching. But from time to time, it is good for the soul to be positive (or so I have been told). So I am going to give this a try....

This is the blog of one of my best friends ever. My boy is killin' the vegetarian cooking and has even posted up dishes I am going to have to try. On top of being a good cook, you need to check out his musical talents in the "other endeavors" tab. If you are looking to change up your mundane mid-week meals or try something new and different on the weekend, check my boy out.

From a friend who is as close as family to my Moms, I am blessed to have some awesomely creative people in my life. The next blog is that of my Mom, and (I may be biased but) damn, shes good. If you are looking to add a touch of color to your dreary fall/winter months, head over and Remember Your Karma. You'll see any number of things, from recently completed quilts and other sewn projects to the musings of the day, check it out and try to keep your jaw off the floor. I've been blessed to see her creativity for my whole life and I am still shocked regularly by what beautiful creations are brought to life.
And then a thought for today....
If you are asked to do something, and choose to do it, make sure that you do your best. Provide a body of work that reflects you. Be it your beliefs, your education or your work ethic, do work. Providing something that accomplishes what you are asked to do, but does not show who you really are is performing a disservice to yourself.

Long absence but a new commitment.
Well, it has certainly been a while since I last wrote
anything. But alas, I am back and I have a new vantage point to write from. This
vantage isn’t much different from my last, but the change is there. Since I
last wrote, I have experienced the working world as a college graduate and come
to some conclusions. The first of which is this: If you only have a History
degree, your job options are limited. Many applications and few interviews have
driven this point home. The second conclusion is: While having a job is
important to survive, you cannot truly Live until you are doing what you love.
This brings me to the present. I am back in a dorm (shudders
at the thought) room, but this time it is for a program which has a direction.
As of 8:30am tomorrow, I start Graduate School. I will be pursuing my Masters
of Arts in Teaching. I have felt a call to teach beginning in school and fought
this feeling through college. But “I can’t fight this feeling” anymore. I am
excited to finally have a direction to my education and hopeful about the
future. This will be an interesting experience for sure and I will do what I
can to make myself successful!
