Well, the fall weather has set in on the rock. I haven't seen the sun since Saturday and I wake up to fog and drizzle. I love the fall up here. We will luck out and get a few weeks of beautiful weather and with my present living location, I am just seconds away from one of my favorite rides.
The weather is having an affect on class sizes too. I have observed that most of my classes have shrunk by around 1/2. I know that professors are not stupid. They don't like the wet weather either, but they come to class daily.
Its time to get my learn on.

Ah, college....
Well the meat of the semester has arrived. This has been my busiest week thus far with 3 test and having a project assigned. Ah, I love college.
The weather has been amazing lately. I have gotten my cyclocross bike completed and now I get to fine tune everything. I have been riding to school as often as possible and I think Thursday i may even get to go ride my bike for a long distance early in the am. Oh HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But now, it is time to study. Until later.......

A kinda rant
Well, I am a cyclist. Ans as a cyclist, I am a big fan of cycling rights and equality. So when I see a fellow cyclist looking like a major dick and riding his bike on the sidewalk on campus (where we do have bike lanes sometimes, like when construction equipment isn't parked there. Thanks AppState) rather than on the road, I get kinda upset about it.
Dude, YOU TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE ON THE SIDEWALK, MAKING IT HARDER TO WALK FOR ANYONE TRYING TO WALK. YOU DON'T NEED TO RIDE ON THE SIDEWALK, YOU CAN PEDAL ON THE ROAD.
If you know the individual that I am talking about, the one who rides around on his black TOWNIE, with rack and bag, please inform him that he needs to ride on the road. Drivers in Boone are accustomed to cyclist on the road enough to give (almost) sufficient right-of-way.
Beyond how rude it is for anyone walking, it is also against the town ordinances in Boone. Son, a cop can give you a ticket. There are plenty of signs telling you not to do it. There is no need to ride on the sidewalk. I am tired of seeing you break the law when everyone else rides on the road.
And that is all I have to say about that. Have a happy day people. Enjoy the wonderful fall weather. Get outside and ride your bike (not on the sidewalk), walk or just sit around.

Almost middle of September.
WELL, September is here and with it brings Football. I love football, I love it at any level. So far this year, I have seen 3 high school games, 2 live college games, and the peewee games at halftime of a high school game.
I miss playing football with a large part of my heart. I miss the practices in the middle of August when it is so hot you can't touch the black on your chinstrap. I miss the games in November when it is so cold that you can't drink the water in the bottles because they are frozen. I miss weights at 5am and spring practices before school.
BUT most of all, I miss the guys I played with. We all built a brotherhood through the tough times that was so fantastic in the times of victory. We laughed, bled, cried and celebrated.
As I sit here, I hear MNF come back from the halftime show and I think about my friends and brothers still playing. To them I have this to say: Play every snap like it is your last. Play fast and play for fun. Play for those of us who are not playing anymore for whatever reason. Play for your family to make them proud. But most of all play for you. Don't play for a soul but yourself. Never say what if. Always say Remember.
FOOTBALL is my first love, it will always be a large part of my life as long as I am able to make it to games. But now, school is my main goal. I must force myself to perform up to my potential and stop slacking on and just getting by. Excel and don't let anyone hold you back or say you can't do it.
I wish my parents the best of luck in their house hunt. I hope that they are able to find the right home for them and the hounds and that it comes in the near (very near) future. I know it will happen and when it does, they will make it a HOME very quickly.
UNTIL the next installment, Do something you love. Don't listen to the haters, listen to your supporters.

Here it goes.....
Well, at 1pm this afternoon, week 2 of the new school year is over. There has been a whole lot going on. My goal of riding my bike to campus as often as I can is happening. I am throwing myself into my studies with force I have not used before. I have great roommates and the weather has been amazing so far.
That has been the good. The bad, has been real bad. It has been a week since I held my Murray's head in my lap while he went to the big sleep. After 15 years of companionship, things feel different knowing that I wont hear his unique bark the next time I go home. He was the best dog that anyone could ever ask for. I just hope that I am lucky enough to see him again someday.
